Just a quick blog to remind teachers and students that you don't have to pay the full price for Microsoft Office. If you can prove that you are a teacher/student (normally just a signature from the headteacher) then you can get the Microsoft Office software at a much reduced price. There are more details on the Microsoft Website.
If you still resent paying that money then I seriously consider the alternatives. Open Office is one of those alternatives costing a grand total of - £0.00. That's right it's totally free and pretty much compatible with Microsoft Office. Those feeling adventurous I recommend downloading the 2.0 beta. This has better features and more compatibility, but be warned it is still beta software - meaning it's not totally bug free. How much could you save getting the latest version of this instead of Microsoft Office on every computer in school? A lot I'm sure!
