The TES has details on a report from the QCA saying that:
'School English lessons will need to change to reflect the new language of text-messages and the internet, the Government's curriculum watchdog said today. While books are "not defunct", children will need "new literacy skills" to cope with new technology, according to a report from the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.'
