Printing 2, 4, 8 or 16 pages to one A4 sheet

Since putting the Simpson's cards on the net I've been asked by a number of people for an editable copy of the small A6 cards.  These small cards are exactly the same as the big version except there are 4 on an A4 page.

2toapage_1 To set this up yourself you simply use the print functions available in Microsoft Word.  On your document choose File -> Print...

From the print menu choose how many page per A4 sheet you want.  You can have 2, 4, 8 or 16.  Don't forget to click Print Preview to check it is how you want it.  You may need to change the orientation of your page from the Printer menu to fit them on correctly.

If you don't have Microsoft Word, you can usually do something similar using your printer properties.  This is how I created them using OpenOffice.

This works with any document and is really useful for creating your own A5 worksheets for books etc.

Thank you
It great learning something new each day.

A great tip! I use something called Fineprint (www.fineprint.com) for this. It works in any program, and can be used to combine print jobs from different software onto a single page... very useful!

This program looks really interesting Mark. Thank's for mentioning it. Do you think it is worth the price they are asking for it?

Well I bought it! I've just printed 26 A4 PDF pages onto 13 sheets, so it's saved me a bit of paper and ink... I suppose the savings add up eventually. :-)

I also use it to shrink my planning, so I don't have to carry around so many pieces of A4!

PS - they do a trial version, so if you're interested, download that and give it a whirl.

Thanks - got a copy of the trial. Looking forward to trying it out!
